Attached there is a HOLDERS database to use while Powermill does not have one.
It uses .pmlth files

Any problems, just let me know

First you must create your HOLDERS in PMLTH format on disk, via Powermill or the DGK2PMLTH Vbasic supplied on http://forum.delcam.com/viewtopic.php?t=3837

Then you put your PMLTH files in one folder (or more).
With the VB you say where your PMLTH files are, the software will list ALL holders in that folder. You just click one, the you will see a preview image of the holder, then you have a button to attach that holder to the active tool.

Is this info enough?

great vb i like it ...... but one question can you explain the best approach to use this along with the v8 tool database to have a tool with holder auto load

the lack of holders in the database the the single biggest reason i have not switched over to the new database

I'm glad you like it :)

The best approach is to load a tool with or without Delcam's tool database, then you start the holder's VB and attach the holder to that tool.

If you open Powermill's Holder defenition and select one holder component, the last (usually) or any other, then you can attach a new older on the top of the selected component. This will allow you to make a complete assemblie.
I have defined machine's nose as HOLDERS, so I can attach on the back of the holder

The selected attachment does not exist anymore.

The file ./../files/holders_887.zip does not exist.

In options under the general tab you'll find a language combo box

Hello,
I'm looking for an idea to load some tool definitions in PowerMILL.
As mentioned in one of my previous posts. I use a small program that allows me to convert various tool CAM solutions for different formats.
I can for example read definitions tools or tools for door WorkNC read in PowerMill. Until today I had treated the conversion of doors tools pmlth format.
To complement the capabilities of the software without going through the Access database of PowerMill I had the idea of using Macros.
So if I want to automatically create a tool I generate a macro file that will create the tool, the tool shank and tool holder in the exportation of assembled tools.

The problem is in the import of speeds conditions. I can not set a speed for the tool.

Do you have an idea to integrate different speeds for different materials. One solution might be to store each tool in the database but I would keep the option of viewing the tool PowerMill before adding to the database.

To try to explain my problem a little more you will find below a sample macro generated by the software :

Code:
// Version origine :PowerMill 2013
// Objet de la macro :
// Création d'outil depuis export Visu_Outil

FUNCTION Main () {
STRING $ToolName=' '

// Check if the Tool already exist
$ToolName='T041 FT D10R3'
IF (dirname(pathname('Tool';$ToolName))=='') {
CREATE IN 'Tool' TOOL  $ToolName TIPRADIUSED
EDIT TOOL $ToolName DIAMETER '10.00'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName LENGTH '10.00'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName TIPRADIUS '3.00'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName NUM_FLUTES '2'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName OVERHANG '10.00'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName SHANK_COMPONENT ADD
EDIT TOOL $ToolName SHANK_COMPONENT LOWERDIA '5.00'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName SHANK_COMPONENT UPPERDIA '5.00'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName SHANK_COMPONENT LENGTH '10.00'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName OVERHANG '10'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName HOLDER_COMPONENT ADD
EDIT TOOL $ToolName HOLDER_COMPONENT LENGTH '46.46'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName HOLDER_COMPONENT UPPERDIA '14.83'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName HOLDER_COMPONENT LOWERDIA '10.00'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName HOLDER_COMPONENT ADD
EDIT TOOL $ToolName HOLDER_COMPONENT LENGTH '7.59'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName HOLDER_COMPONENT UPPERDIA '30.60'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName HOLDER_COMPONENT LOWERDIA '14.83'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName HOLDER_COMPONENT ADD
EDIT TOOL $ToolName HOLDER_COMPONENT LENGTH '25.95'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName HOLDER_COMPONENT UPPERDIA '63.00'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName HOLDER_COMPONENT LOWERDIA '63.00'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName HOLDER_NAME 'HSK63 D05 80'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName STOCK_MATERIAL 'AU4G'
EDIT TOOL FEEDSPEED SELECT 1 0
EDIT TOOL $ToolName AXIAL DOC '2.00000'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName RADIAL DOC '1.00000'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName SURFACESPEED '320.00000'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName FEEDPERTOOTH '0.15000'
EDIT TOOL $ToolName COOLANT NONE
} ELSE {
MESSAGE ERROR 'Existing TOOL : ' + $ToolName + ' in ' + dirname(pathname('Tool';$ToolName))
}
MESSAGE INFO 'End of Update'
}

For those who want to test it is always an download at the following address:
http://5axes.free.fr/Outil/Visu_outil_28X.exe

To switch to English version if the application starts in French: MENU-> Edit -> Options -> Language select "U.S. English" instead of "Français".

To generate the file Delcam format. Right click on a component and slect the function "Delcam Export".
Image
If it's an assembly or tool: generating a macro file and then run it from PM.
If it's an older generation of a pmlth file.

Thank you for your help on this topic.
