Hi Jon,
Thought you'd fallen off the planet.
Welcome back.
Quick Q - Has the jolly old USA relaxed their immigration policy?
It's just that unless you're a us citizen, you have a degree or happen to be married to a US citizen or you win the immigration lottery then the class priority is I believe a 3 or a 5yr wait.

Cheers Jon

Hi Jon,

Not fallen off the planet, just been busy. I still pop on the board from time to time and troll around but it's funny how time flies. I need to crawl out from under my rock a little more often

Anyway, in answer to your question. I don't know! 8)

I have put the immigration question to our HR dept, we'll see what they come back with. On a personal level, a lot has changed in the years I've lived here, but I think coming from Canadia into the US is easier then from the UK(?)

You Know what,
I was contacted by one of the nascar racing teams in NC,friend of mine from the UK had contacts there ,they were looking for a 5ax pgmmer.
Anyhow they wanted to offer me the job, fine, went through all the red tape, documentation blah...blah...
When push came to shove and because I'm still a UK citizen I would have to make the formal application from the UK??? WHAT???
and whats more reside there until the processing had completed which I know from exp. can take years!!!
Now I love my homeland with a passion but........???
Mind you This was just after 9-11,so maybe things have changed, but I doubt it.
I've been doing the same sort of programming you guys do for
10 yrs, mostly gupm, supm, wheels etc,etc and would love to apply
but I'm afraid I know what the outcome would be with immigration.

Having said all that Good Luck in your search for someone.

Best Regards Jon
